- The Avaya One-X Communicator application should start up If you see a Security Alert message, click Allow access On the Setup window, select 'Telephony Setup' only and click Next (Note, 'Telephony Setup' may be grayed out but should still have a check mark next to it).
- Avaya one-X® Communicator is a Unified Communications client that helps enterprise users manage their communications tasks by providing simple, intuitive access to all of their everyday communications tools. One-X Communicator can be deployed: as a standalone client; as a client that integrates with one-X Client Enablement Services, Conferencing Enterprise, and Avaya Aura® Messaging or Avaya Modular Messaging.
Remote Worker allows the connection of supported IP phones andclient applications remotely from IP Office, without requiring any VPN concentrator equipment with IP Office.
With the Remote Worker feature enabled, remote 9600 H.323 or SIPJ100 IP Phones can connect to IP Office even if it is located behind a NAT router. The same appliesto supported client applications, see supported SIP endpoints. The sets or applications are authenticatedon IP Office in the same way as if in the private network. The IP Office determines that the user is located outside the privatenetwork and relays the VoIP RTP traffic to ensure it transverses theNAT router.

Note The H.323 signaling and the media traffic is not encrypted howeverthe proprietary binary format adds a basic level of encryption.

To reach the IP Office from the remote private network, remote IP phones or clientapplications need to be configured to point to the public IP addressof the NAT router hosting IP Office. Configurable ports need to be forwarded to IP Office. IP Office requires a valid public IP address configured for thefeature to function. The public IP address can be statically configuredor dynamically discovered via a STUN server.
Administrators enable Remote Worker feature using IP Office Manager. To use the Remote Worker feature, you require theEssential Edition license. The Essential Edition license provides4 remote workers.
Additional Remote Workers can be configured if those additionalusers are licensed and configured with either Teleworker or PowerUser user profiles

SIP phones using Avaya SBCE
The Avaya Session BorderController for Enterprise (Avaya SBCE) sits on the edge of customer's network with both internaland external IP interfaces. Using these IP interfaces, Avaya SBCE functions as the gateway for SIP traffic into and outof the network. When used internally, SIP clients register to the IP Office directly. When used externally, the SIP clients connectto the Avaya SBCE.
